Thanks BV2BJ,
I will check NCC's member again during this Friday's examination. If we can't buy the kit and DIY the rig, I will try to buy an assembled kit machine. I am also curious about, if we can't apply a formal license for the DIY machine, how can the most QRPer in Taiwan to operate the DIY rig legally ?
Thanks BV2BJ,
I live in Hsinchu and work late mostly. It is not easy for me to reach there. It will be more convenient to ask question over the network.

With comparison to Norcal40A and Elecraft KX1, their schematic have many parts similar. In KX1, the schematic is more solid, and only two of NE602A used. In addition, N6KR seems found partner in MCU programming, and use the DDS for precisely frequency control and display.
Thanks BV2BJ,
China's ham had built a KX1-like(clone?) machine and sold by Ten-Tec named R4030. The NE602A can be defined as an IF chip to up/down-convert baseband and IF signal with included local oscillator. It is a simple chip to design with today's technology. The vendor don't gain enough profit to sustain it and that is why it disappeared gradually. Our team had ever designed an receiver IC for the pager. It has more features than NE602A, but less expensive than it. The pager market is declined rapidly, and we apply it over the 27MHz keyboard/mouse application. It don't bring good profit, and that product is dropped eventually.

WOW!! "DIY001" Is it a vacuum tube or transistor based transceiver ? Some of us may see the vacuum tube based audio amplifier, but it is not easy to see a vacuum tube based RF transceiver.
During worked in broadcast station to see the AM/FM transmitter with output power about 10KW, and they are all done with solid state amplifier now. The elder engineer still memory the vacuum tube based AM/FM amplifier - not fancy but long life.
In this forum, I see the activity introduction over 2011/5/31 about BX2AF OM
ps. Just got my class 2 station license today which issued with a Taiwan-made HT, and I will re-register with callsign BX3AAQ(ªü~Q).
For the Norcal 40A, some university in USA select it as a lab project and course study material.
In follow course link, the NC40A is well studied in different stage. http://whites.sdsmt.edu/classes/ee322/
The course hand-out have a good balance in theory and experiment. For the home-brewer or qrper, it should be a good material.
